About Us
In 1999, following the successful
approval of the Africa Growth and Opportunity Act, and
at the suggestion of Mr Mark Erwin, then the US Ambassador,
a group of business people formed a steering committee
to discuss the idea of setting up an American Chamber
of Commerce. The idea was accepted and the American
Chamber of Commerce in Mauritius was officially launched
on 5th February 2001.
Today, the American Chamber of Commerce has over 260
corporate and individual members.
